Welcome to Voluntown

town_sealLocated in the northeast corner of New London County, Voluntown is a rural community consisting of 39.8 square miles with two-thirds of the town made up of state forest. Pachaug State Forest offers many outdoor activities; such as hunting, camping, hiking and horseback riding. The town hall and library are located in the Village Center, along with the PreK-8 school, Constitution Field, the walking track, and gazebo. Voluntown was Incorporated in 1721 and has a rich history of textile mills, historic buildings, the Civilian Conservation Corps. (CCC Camp), folklore and was originally known as “Volunteer Town”.

NEW PLAYGROUND/WALKING TRACK ON GATE STREET CLOSED

Our new playground is being installed!! Since it is being installed in the middle of the walking track, and there is heavy equipment and vehicles involved, the playground and walking track is closed for safety reasons.

Flu Clinic, October 7

The UNCAS Health District Mobile Van will be at the Voluntown Firehouse, Monday October 7, 10:30-12:00pm for a flu clinic.  Uncas Health is asking asking all participants to arrive to the vaccine clinic with their flu consent form printed and filled out as well as a photocopy of the front and back of their insurance card.

Walking Track Closed Until October 1st
